Kinvig Football is a campus league football team that provides football and social events for players of any background and ability.
We hold regular training sessions and play weekly 6-a-side matches against other societies. We also compete in the Sunday Campus League in 11-a-side matches. We are proud to say the Campus League summer 6-a-side tournament consisted of a Kinvig Year 1 vs Kinvig Year 2 final, alongside strong league performances in both semester 1 and 2.
As a group, we have weekly socials on Wednesday nights, including dress themes and games, which have created a great bond between all year groups. We have also had society-arranged meals, as well as special holiday-themed events such as our Halloween and Christmas-themed socials, alongside scavenger hunts and Selly Bingo. We like to arrange a trip abroad as a team, with all year groups involved. Last year, we went to Krakow, Poland, and this is widely regarded as one of the highlights of the year.
We rounded off a successful year with our annual AGM, where new captains and social secretary were appointed, followed by the Kinvig ball!
We welcome students from any course, beyond the School of GEES and look forward to meeting you all this year!
