With the start of our new Kinvig Outreach Fund, we will be sponsoring 2 members to go volunteer alongside Care4Calais as a Refugee Volunteer, helping give aid to refugees currently in the Calais refugee camps. We have partnered with our friends at the UoB InterVol Society who are keen to send students to help those in need around the world.
This is a sponsorship of £200 each to 2 members to cover the cost needed to fundraise as required by the charity. This does mean that you will need to cover travel and accommodation but InterVol and Care4Calais has many suggestions on cheap and effective places to stay and ways to travel. The volunteering will be taking place in the summer and you can apply alongside a friend. Only 2 members can receive sponsorship but more people can apply for the Care4Calais programme with InterVol and go alongside our members but they will need to raise the money their selves. We may take into account under-represented characteristics but will mainly be focusing on the reasons for sponsorship more than the individual applicants.
